InterAutoGlass held successful meetings in The Netherlands

24 June 2008

About 25 delegates traveled to The Netherlands to take part in a series of meetings of International Automotive Glass Federation™. The meetings mainly focused on the current activities of the three Committees of InterAutoGlass.

The InterAutoGlass Technical Committee, with its brand-new Chairman Serge de Bruijn (Vasned, The Netherlands) decided to publish a Code of Practice for the safe replacement and repair of automotive glass soon. This code is to facilitate the InterAutoGlass member organisations in editing and updating national standards.

The General Meeting has decided on the details of The International Master Fitter Competition 2008 as proposed by a special committee. This international competition for autoglass specialists will take place during tradeshow glasstec in Düsseldorf, Germany, 21 – 25 October 2008 and will conclude a series of national competitions, of which some also take place during glasstec.

During the main dinner participants were asked to express their ideas of the award for the competition by painting and playing with plasticene. For this purpose InterAutoGlass had invited artistic therapeutist Minne Scharis to give guidance. “I am wondering whether we could take use of their artistic expressions”, says Pim de Ridder, managing director of InterAutoGlass. “But anyhow we succeeded in spending in an alternative way some valuable time together on this big event for the industry”.
