Rules The International Master Fitter Competition 2010
 
International Automotive Glass Federation™ in close co-operation with Messe Düsseldorf organizes the International Master Fitter Competition 2010. The event will be held in a special Arena on the premises of Messe Düsseldorf at the Messegelände in DE – Düsseldorf during the glasstec International Trade Fair on Thursday 30th of September and Friday 1st of October 2010.

The Competition is based on criteria for quality and health & safety only.

Participation is in principle free of charge and open to automotive glass technicians / master installers of automotive glass (both men and women) who have been delegated by InterAutoGlass or its Members. In principle, only one participant per member organization can take part. Participants should apply in writing to the Management before 20th of August 2010 and inform the Management about the products and tools they will be using during the Competition.

The components of the Competition will be:
1. Replacement door window
2. Replacement back window
3. Repair windshield
4. Replacement windshield.

Each day the Competition starts at 11.00 a.m. Participants must be present in the arena at least one hour before the Competition begins.

During the Competition, each participant will be required to perform the following, in succession:
a) Replace a designated driver’s or passenger’s door window with a door window to be made available to him, using his own tools
b) Replace a designated back window with a back window to be made available to him, using his own tools
c) Repair designated windscreen damage, using a repair set to be made available by himself and which is of his own choosing
d) Replace a designated windshield with a windshield to be made available to him, using his own tools and using aids to be made available by himself.

The participant must carry out all the work independently within a period of time specified in advance. Assistance may only be enlisted for the lifting work in the part of the competition referred to in b) and d) above.

The make and type of the car(s) might not be revealed in advance.

The Chairman of the Jury will give the instructions (and information) referred to above. The participants and other members of the Jury must follow these and any other instructions (and information).

The Jury will be made up of one representative per InterAutoGlass member organization, on the binding recommendation of each organization in writing to the Management before 20th of August 2008. Each member of the Jury will work according to a checklist provided by the Chairman of the Jury and abstain from judging the participant delegated by his own organization. Each participant will for each of the four performances be judged by one turning membera different member of the Jury. This member of the Jury will be responsible for the relevant performance of the particular participant only.

After the Competition all participants will receive a certificate on their participation. The winner will receive an adequate award. The winner will be permitted to use the title International Master Fitter after consultation with InterAutoGlass.

Decisions of the organization and/or Jury will be final.

Participation will be entirely at the participant’s own risk.

Participants and members of the Jury will indemnify the organization, the members of the Jury, and the other participants / visitors against any liability and/or damage which may arise from their entry or participation.

The organizer of the Competition is entitled to use a reproduction of the Competition in any shape or form for its own promotional purposes.

By entering and participating in the Competition, participants accept these Rules irrevocably.
